A repeat buyer, specialist garage The Figaro Shop, has returned to Knightsbridge to complete another automotive sector acquisition — in a transaction represented by Regional Commercial Director Martin Baars and led by Operations Manager Leanne Boulding.
The Figaro Shop was founded by Tobyn Brooks in 2011, who began selling car parts online before developing the business into a specialist garage focused on restoring and servicing the Nissan Figaro — the cult retro vehicle originally produced in limited numbers for the Japanese market.
Operating from Didcot, Oxfordshire, Tobyn had previously completed an acquisition through Knightsbridge when The Figaro Shop acquired Best Autocentres, a multi-site vehicle servicing and MOT business in the south of England.
This time around, the business has acquired vehicle servicing company Alltecnique, founded by Darren Cooper in 2006. The opportunity generated targeted interest in the market, ultimately enabling Darren to step away from the business and move forward with his retirement plans.
Reflecting on the latest transaction, Leanne explained:
“Having already completed an acquisition with us, the buyer was familiar with the process and confident in pursuing another sizeable opportunity in the sector.”
The well-established vehicle repair, maintenance and MOT centre serves motorists across the Wiltshire area. The family-run business has built its reputation over nearly two decades and operates from three neighbouring units on the same site.
Operating from Salisbury, the company provides a wide range of services for cars and light commercial vehicles. Over time it has developed strong relationships with both domestic and commercial clients, supported by an experienced in-house team.
The business maintains a database of more than 6,500 contacts, including around 2,500 active customers, while repeat clients account for approximately 65% of total sales — reflecting the strength of its reputation locally.
Knightsbridge wishes Darren a very happy retirement and looks forward to seeing Alltecnique continue to develop under the ownership of Tobyn and The Figaro Shop.
