Avantguard Security
With retirement plans in place for its founder, we brought Avantguard Security to market, with its sale completing just over five months later. Deal Executive Ollie Edwards led the process, which generated significant interest — resulting in 64 enquiries, 19 meetings and seven competitive offers before a buyer was selected.
Operating across more than 250 active sites, this West Sussex-based business delivers a mix of static guarding, mobile patrols, keyholding and alarm response services. Its client base spans a wide range of organisations across sectors including finance, education, manufacturing and local authority settings.
Since Tony Woolcott launched Avantguard in 2009, it has built a strong local presence, supported by long-standing relationships and recurring contracts. Its use of GuardTools software has streamlined reporting and client communication, enabling a more efficient operating model while maintaining service consistency across its portfolio.
The acquirer, TMA Services Group, is a London-based operator within the same sector, founded in 2019. Founder Mark Telford identified the business as an opportunity to expand its presence across the South East. The addition of Avantguard strengthens its operational footprint while bringing in an established client base and experienced team.
With both businesses aligned operationally, the acquisition provides a clear platform for further growth, combining regional coverage with an established service offering.
