After nearly five decades of trading, B & M Clark (Builders) has transitioned to new ownership, marking the next chapter for the Hampshire-based construction specialist. Established in 1978, the business has built a strong reputation for residential construction, refurbishment and heritage restoration projects across the South.

Operating from Emsworth, Hampshire, the company has delivered work on ecclesiastical and listed properties, including involvement in Winchester’s Jubilee Sculpture observed by HM The Queen. Its portfolio also includes projects at Portsmouth Cathedral and Lambeth Palace, reinforcing its standing within the heritage construction sector.

Dave Clements brought the business to market to facilitate retirement plans, with continuity and reputation central to his objectives. Engagement throughout the process was steady, generating 18 signed NDAs, progressing through five meetings and resulting in three formal offers before a preferred purchaser was agreed.

The transaction was led by Deal Executive Karen Clarke and represented by Regional Commercial Director Chris Darroux. Research was conducted by Naomi Heaton, documentation prepared by Kate Matthews and onboarding managed by Associate Director Elliot Grant, reflecting a coordinated team effort that brought the deal to completion in nine months.

The business was acquired by Luke Fryer, through Our Home Hero Limited, based in Fareham, Hampshire. Active within the residential construction sector, the buyer viewed the acquisition as an opportunity to broaden operational capability and geographic reach, and has since progressed further acquisition discussions.

Luke shared a five-star review following completion:

“Great service. Karen Clarke dealt with the transaction with professionalism and always followed up to ensure the deal went through without a hitch. Highly recommend.”

Both parties were pleased with the outcome, with Dave confident the company’s standards and long-standing reputation will continue under new ownership. Knightsbridge wishes Dave every success in retirement and the very best to Luke as he develops B & M Clark into its next phase.
