County Power

County Power had spent more than 30 years building long-term customer relationships, with many clients continuing to use the company for servicing and maintenance after their initial installation. When owners Robert and Rachel Spafford decided to retire, the business attracted four offers.

Established in 1995, County Power designs, installs and maintains air conditioning, ventilation and heat-pump systems for commercial, industrial and domestic customers across the East Midlands.

By the time it came to market, the company had more than 200 active customers, with many relationships stretching back over a decade. Maintenance contracts and long-term equipment warranties meant a large proportion of customers returned for ongoing work alongside new installations.

Deal Executive Ollie Edwards guided Robert and Rachel through the sale, which completed with Square Holdings Group. The buyer is looking to acquire more HVAC companies as it builds a wider group, and County Power brings an established customer base and recurring maintenance work.

Robert and Rachel also agreed a six-month handover as part of the deal before stepping away from the company. The Knightsbridge team wishes the pair every success for the future, and continued success for Square Holdings Group with County Power.
