Fedalah

After 17 years building Fedalah into an established London surveying practice, William Wates has sold the business as he retires. The buyer was looking to grow its surveying capabilities, and keeping key expertise within Fedalah was an important part of the deal.

William established the practice in 2009. Fedalah specialises in Level 3 building and structural surveys, Level 2 HomeBuyer surveys and Party Wall matters, alongside contract administration, expert witness work and building defect diagnosis.

Since then, the firm has completed thousands of surveys and related assignments across England and Wales. Much of its work has come through its reputation and professional referrals, particularly from solicitors and architects, rather than through active marketing.

That reputation, along with the experience already within the business, made Fedalah a good fit for a company looking to grow in the sector.

Associate Director Sara Thomasson led the transaction, which completed with Derby-based Enable Services. The buyer was looking to expand its surveying and professional services capabilities.

Key in-house expertise will remain within the business as William steps away from the practice, helping provide continuity under the new ownership.

Following completion, William said he was really pleased with how quickly the transaction had gone through.

The Knightsbridge team wishes William every success in retirement and Enable Services continued success with Fedalah.
