Firecheck North West
Firecheck North West was brought to market with a clear objective: to find an acquirer who understood the fire safety sector and could continue the trade while Stephen and Kath Fleming moved into retirement.
Based in Warrington, Cheshire, and established in 1989, Firecheck has spent more than three decades building its reputation in fire safety and protection services.
Its work includes fire extinguisher servicing, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, fire risk assessments and fire safety training, supporting organisations across a broad range of sectors.
A key part of the appeal was the customer base behind the business. Firecheck serves more than 600 active clients and has grown with the support of strong retention, repeat relationships and word-of-mouth referrals.
Represented by Regional Commercial Director Simon Burns, the opportunity attracted strong interest from trade and sector-focused parties. Operations Manager Sara Manville then led the sale through its later stages, helping manage a process that generated multiple offers.
Ranger Fire and Security was identified through an in-house cross-match. Already active in the fire and security market, Ranger was well placed to understand the value of Firecheck’s client relationships, experienced engineers and established North West presence.
That fit mattered to the sellers. Stephen and Kath were pleased with both the buyer and the value achieved, knowing the company would remain in its specialist field under ownership capable of taking it forward.
Ranger provides fire and security services through a UK-wide platform, with support spanning design and installation through to service and maintenance. Firecheck adds a long-established operator to that platform, bringing a loyal customer base and a reputation built over many years.
The sale allows Stephen and Kath to step away from the business and begin retirement, while Firecheck continues with a trade buyer already committed to its market.
