Guardian Security Installations
Our client, a West Yorkshire-based security technology and fire safety specialist, is now set for its next phase following a successful sale process.
Founded in 2002 by Stephen Emsley and Warren Heggarty, Guardian Security Installations provides the installation and maintenance of CCTV systems, access control, burglar alarms and fire safety solutions across Lancashire and Yorkshire. Its client base spans both domestic and commercial customers, including schools, factories and retail premises.
The company established a strong reputation within the sector, supported by long-standing customer relationships and recognised industry standards, including Gold approval from the National Security Inspectorate. The business also strengthened its local presence through the opening of prominent client-facing premises in Keighley, Bradford.
With retirement plans in mind, Stephen and Warren took the decision to bring the business to market. The process, led by Knightsbridge Associate Director Sara Thomasson, generated significant engagement, resulting in 19 meetings and no fewer than 10 offers before a successful outcome for the shareholders was secured.
The buyer, Burnley-based KeyPlus Security, identified Guardian as a strong strategic fit as it continues to expand its presence across Yorkshire and strengthen its wider service offering. Founded in 2008 by its Chief Executive, Brian Curran, KeyPlus provides key holding, alarm response and mobile patrol services across the North.
The acquisition broadens the group’s operational reach and technical capabilities, bringing together complementary services across security, monitoring and response. Combined, the businesses now support more than 2,000 client sites across Lancashire and Yorkshire.

This is about building on what already exists — maintaining the local presence and continuity clients value, while strengthening the overall service offering across Lancashire and Yorkshire.”
