How Burnley Enterprise of Sport and Training Leisure & Travel Was Sold to Nile Wilson Gymnastics | Deal Summary

Knightsbridge sourced a suitable buyer after the bar was set high…

Burnley Enterprise of Sport and Training is a popular sports and leisure facility which predominantly focuses on gymnastics; home to world-class equipment.

The Lancashire-based centre also offers classes and sessions for a diverse variety of sports and activities such as martial arts, table tennis, and a range of other sporting events.

Founded in 2010, opening its doors in 2012, the facility has earned an excellent reputation by forming and maintaining relationships with thousands of members and non-members alike.

The recently refurbished facility has expanded in its time, achieves consistent year-on-year turnover figures, and benefits from a strong online following with positive reviews.

Burnley Enterprise runs school sports clubs, sold out school holiday programmes, and children’s parties – including catering.

Owner Darren Wright reached out to Knightsbridge, having decided to sell the centre to facilitate continued growth under the impetus of a new owner.

Operations Manager Sara Manville was deployed to execute the sale. After thorough planning and research, five viewings were held and two competing bids were tabled.

The successful offer came from Nile Wilson Gymnastics, which operates a series of clubs across the UK, adding Burnley as its seventh branch.

The business is headquartered in Melksham, Wiltshire, founded by the named former Olympic gymnast in 2019 and ran by Luke Sutton.

“Darren was very happy with the buyer we sourced. He appreciates their future plans with the business, which was important for him”, explained Sara.

As the Knightsbridge team dismounts from sale proceedings, we wish the best for Darren, Nile and Luke in continuing their good work in keeping kids active.
