Hy5 Commercial Cleaning
Founded in 2007 by Keith Simm and based in Cumbria, Hy5 Commercial Cleaning is a specialist commercial cleaning provider, delivering services including general extraction, kitchen ventilation and laundry extraction cleaning.
It has built a strong reputation within the sector, supported by a client base of circa 200 active customers and long-standing relationships across its market.
With a focus on compliance and safety, Hy5 plays a key role in supporting commercial kitchens and food-related environments, providing specialist grease extraction and system cleaning services.
Having developed the business over a number of years, Keith took the decision to bring Hy5 to market as part of his retirement plans.
The process was managed by Operations Manager Leanne Boulding, who highlighted the business’s strong position and clear opportunities for further growth within the sector.
Reflecting on the transaction, Leanne said:
“The buyer was looking to expand its existing group of companies and had a clear strategy for growth through acquisition. Having worked with them on a previous transaction, there was already a strong understanding of how they operate and what they look for.”
The business was ultimately acquired by Proximo Group, a London-based group founded by Harvey Croft in 2017. The acquisition follows its previous purchase of Brandon Bespoke, a manufacturer of food-safe polishes and waxes, and forms part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
Leanne added: “This was a smooth process with an experienced buyer we had successfully worked with before, which helped maintain momentum throughout and deliver a strong result for the client.”
Following completion, Keith now steps away from the business as he enters retirement. The Knightsbridge team wishes him all the best and looks forward to seeing Hy5 Commercial Cleaning continue to develop as part of Proximo Group’s growing portfolio.
