Learning Academy (UK)

Completed within six months of going live on the market, Learning Academy (UK) has now entered its next chapter following a successful sale process.

Established in 2008 by Ram and Pratiba Khullar, the Croydon-based private training provider delivers accredited courses across the construction and electrical sectors. Operating as an approved City & Guilds and EAL provider, the business offers a range of qualifications for electricians and other industry professionals.

Over time, the company developed a strong reputation within the vocational training market, benefiting from repeat learners, word-of-mouth referrals and consistent visibility amongst new clients. Around 70% of sales were generated from new customers, reflecting the strength of the brand within its sector.

The business was brought to market to facilitate the shareholders’ retirement plans. Led by Deal Executive Karen Clarke, the process generated ten enquiries, four meetings and two offers before a successful outcome was secured.

The buyer, private investor Ali Sharif, brings more than 20 years’ experience within the training and education sector and is actively seeking further opportunities within the industry. The acquisition was identified as a strong fit, with clear opportunities to build on the academy’s existing reputation and accredited training offering.

Reflecting on the transaction, Karen commented:

“Communication was strong throughout and it was a pleasure working with both sides. I’ll definitely miss my chats with the sellers and I’m looking forward to hopefully working with the buyer again in the future.”

The Knightsbridge team wishes Ram and Pratiba a long and happy retirement, and every success to Learning Academy (UK) as the business continues under new ownership.
