NRG (2012)
Some of this company’s commercial relationships stretch back more than 40 years, including its work with the RAC, which dates back over five decades. That longevity reflects the position the Surrey recovery business has built since its origins in 1971.
Based in Chessington, NRG (2012) Ltd provides nationwide roadside assistance and vehicle recovery, alongside workshop repairs, MOTs and diagnostic services. Its clients include motoring organisations, insurers, councils and fleet operators, with an experienced team covering roadside recovery, workshop and control-room operations.
Those relationships were still developing as the business came to market. NRG had renewed its RAC agreement for a further four years and Green Flag for two, while also securing a contract to become an AA agent. Its relationships with Green Flag and Britannia Rescue had already lasted more than four decades.
The opportunity attracted 12 meetings and two offers before terms were agreed with Hampshire-based Boarhunt Group, a repeat Knightsbridge buyer. With its own background in vehicle recovery, Boarhunt was a natural fit for the business.
NRG will also remain at its established Chessington base, with the seller retaining the property and granting the buyer a lease. Associate Director Leanne Boulding led the transaction, with Regional Commercial Director Martin Baars representing the opportunity.
Martin and Louise Lambert had overseen NRG since it was restructured under its current ownership in 2012. The sale allows Martin to move ahead with his retirement plans, with both directors available to assist with a handover if required.
Boarhunt Group takes on a long-established recovery operation with commercial relationships built over several decades. The Knightsbridge team wishes Martin and Louise every success for the future, and Boarhunt Group continued success with NRG.
