Industrial supply businesses rarely attract attention outside their core markets, yet they often form the backbone of wider manufacturing and construction activity. Target Fastenings has operated in this space for decades, supplying a broad range of fasteners and associated consumables from its base in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Established in 1986, the business built a reputation as a dependable distributor with extensive stockholding and strong trade relationships. Serving sectors including manufacturing, construction and engineering, it developed a stable, repeat customer base supported by recognised accreditation and consistent service standards.

The company was brought to market as part of the owner’s exit plans, with a preference for securing a buyer who recognised the operational strength and long-term potential of the business. Engagement during the process was steady, with multiple meetings held before a preferred purchaser was agreed.

The transaction was led by Deal Executive Peter Taberner, with research conducted by Naomi Heaton, Knightsbridge Researcher. Target Fastenings was acquired by Umar Khan of SSR Photo Ltd, based in Reading, Berkshire, who was attracted by the commercial synergies between the businesses.

The acquisition provides a platform to build on the company’s established customer relationships and product range. Knightsbridge wishes Richard every success in his future plans and the very best to Umar as he takes the company into its next phase.
