Valentine Wigs

What began as a niche online offering has grown into a recognisable name within the global wigs market, with Valentine Wigs now moving into new ownership following a well-supported sale.

Based in Preston, Lancashire, the company operates as a specialist e-commerce retailer, supplying a wide range of wigs and accessories across human hair, synthetic and high-heat fibre categories.

Since launching in 2003 and evolving under its current ownership from 2014, it has established direct relationships with leading manufacturers and developed a catalogue spanning some of the best-known brands in the sector.

Its growth has been driven by a combination of product breadth and a customer-focused approach, supporting a diverse audience including those experiencing hair loss as well as fashion-led buyers.

Strong levels of repeat custom, alongside consistently high review scores, have created a dependable revenue base and a reputation built on trust and discretion – factors which the Knightsbridge team presented to potential buyers.

With retirement plans in place, Richard Williams brought the company to market. The process, led by Operations Manager Sara Manville, generated competitive interest, resulting in 11 meetings and five offers before a buyer was selected.

The acquirer, Guy Barnard, is already active within the sector and identified Valentine Wigs as a complementary addition, offering immediate scale through its established online presence, supplier network and loyal customer base.

With no reliance on fixed premises and a model designed around flexibility, the company is well positioned for further development, whether through expanded product lines, new partnerships or continued investment in digital channels.

The Knightsbridge team wishes Richard a very happy retirement, and every success to Guy as he builds on the company in its next phase.
